SIKESTON - Somewhat warmer weather prevailed in Sikeston at midweek after a bitter weekend of low temperatures. The maximum temperatures at midweek was 61 and the low was 20 degrees above zero.
BELL CITY - The Moore-Dupont Wineries of Bell City bottled their first shipment of wine Thursday. Approximately 50 cases (600 bottles) of wine were produced during the day and will be distributed in the Sikeston area this week.

CHARLESTON - At the request of Circuit Clerk-Recorder Karen S. Turley, the County Commission Thursday approved the replacement of microfilming equipment in the clerk's office. The present processor camera, dupli-printer and reader-printer, purchased about three years ago, frequently breaks down, is outdated and repair costs are high. In 1991, Mrs. Turley listed maintenance and supply costs at $6,600. After selling the old equipment, the approximate cost of the new equipment will be $1,972.50, resulting in a savings of about $4,300 for 1993. With the projected savings, authorization was given for the purchase of the UCC federal tax lien and marriage license indexing computer programs from Computect of Ste. Genevieve.
