SIKESTON - One hundred and ten men signed contracts at the Employment Service here Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to go to work in the Portland, Ore., shipyards for the Williamette Iron and Steel Co.

BENTON - After successfully serving as Scott County Savings Bond chairman for several years, W.B. Denton has been appointed Missouri State Savings Bonds Chairman by the Treasury Department.

DEXTER - Four Dexter High School students have been selected for the All-State Choir. Greg Summers, Tracy Wheeler, Leah Vails and Mike Glenn will represent Dexter and Southeast Missouri.

SIKESTON - Members of Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church will present Christmas at Calvary '92 today at the church. Music director Frank Worthingon said a cast of 100 will perform favorites like "Jingle Bells" and "Deck the Halls," along with more religious arrangements, such as "Go Tell It On the Mountain" and "The Hallelujah Chorus."


SIKESTON - The Chancel Choir of the First Christian Church will present a Christmas Rhapsody during the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday, under the direction of Mary Beaver. Organist will be Sharron Lathum and Kacky Garner will be responsible for hand bells. Lloyd Smith will be the narrator and Jim Donovan will be sound engineer. Soloists will be Martha Brown, Kay Donovan, Shirley Miller, Steve McPheeters and Marlys Smith.
