CHARLESTON - Addie Geneva Higgins, 91, formerly of East Prairie, died at 10:55 p.m. Feb. 1, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Feb. 10, 1911, near East Prairie, daughter of the late Alexander and Queen Victoria Chance Lynch, she was a resident of the Charleston Manor Nursing Center. She and her husband farmed in the Sugartree Ridge Community for many years before his death. She was then employed by the Budget Laundry Cleaners in East Prairie until her retirement.
In 1925, she married Noble H. Higgins who preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1965.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Dalton Lynch; and four sisters, Eulah Schneider, Gladys Higgins, Catherine Smith and Lucille Bradley Clay.
Several nieces and nephews survive.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday with Burl Britt, officiating.
Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
