Ethel Fyffe

Born March 7, 1926, in Bernie, daughter of the late Charles and Melvina Nelson Clark, she was a private duty nurse before retiring and a member of the Bernie Christian Church.

On Nov. 9, 1946, at Piggott, Ark., she married Eugene Fyffe who preceded her in death on May 5, 1998.

Survivors include: two sons, Charles Arthur Fyffe of Dexter and Darrell Gene Fyffe of Hoisington, Kan.; two daughters, Janice Lynn Shipman and Eugenia Sue Abelson of Dexter; one brother, Robert Clark of Cape Girardeau; and nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Raymond Clark, Lora Clark, Melvin Clark, Charles Clark and Gene Clark; and three sisters, Goldie Clark, Lena Zimmerman and Evelyn Rice.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Bernie Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Hayward officiating.
