JACKSON -- Sikeston's eighth grade boys team rolled past Cape Central in the Jackson Tournament on Thursday night, 48-29.
"We played extremely well as a club," said Sikeston coach Kevin Self. "Everybody played well, the bench, everybody. We went through a lull a week ago, but we've come out of it. We've got two games left, and hopefully we can win both of those."
Julian Spencer led the Bullpups with 13 points, followed by Cameron Wiggins with 10, Blake Taylor with five, Joe Lincoln with four, Tarryl Booker with four, Jared Scott with two, Preston Rowe with two and Joe Moore with two. Hester paced Cape Central with seven.
Sikeston (8-3) will play Jackson for the championship on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. The Bullpups will then play for third place in the Cape Central Tournament on Monday.
