SIKESTON - When asked, "How does Santa get to your house?," six first graders at Matthews Elementary School recently cleared up some of the questions the Daily Standard newsroom had pertaining to Jolly Old St. Nick and his annual travels. "I've seen Santa Claus for real," stated Matthew Scott Watkins, 6. "Santa has this special panel on his sleigh. He just stands on it and he disappears into the house with the presents!" Blake Sindle rationalized, "Santa gets in my house through the door, of course. If he came down the chimney, the smoke would get into his eyes and he couldn't see where he was going. We have both doors unlocked in case one of then gets stuck." The 6-year-old said one time he had set a mousetrap with a string attached for St. Nicholas which enabled Blake to catch him in the house.
Dear Santa: I hope you are not sick. I have a book where you had chicken pox on Christmas. Please remember all my friends and family. I've been really good this year. Jordi Ferrell, 4 years old
