SIKESTON - Nominees for the 2003 Honors Board program are being accepted by the Park Division. Deadline for submitted nominations is 5 p.m. Feb. 28.
The Park Board has recognized 27 local residents for their outstanding volunteer contributions to youth sports and Scouting programs since 1986. The bronze plaques are installed each year on the Honors Board which is located near the Ingram Road entrance to the Recreation Complex.
Nominees will be considered at the March 10 meeting of the Park Board. Up to two candidates can be chosen for this recognition and they must be named on 75 percent of the ballots cast by Park Board members in attendance at the March meeting in order to have their names placed on the Honor Board.
Nomination forms are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Parks and Recreation office of Jiggs Moore, 501 Campanella in the Clinton Building. For more information about the program, call Moore at 471-6070.
