NEW MADRID - Lewis Cameron Riley, 85, died Feb. 8, 2003, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.
Born Oct. 11, 1917, in New Madrid, son of the late Howard and Lottie Lewis Riley, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus and was a local farmer and landowner.
On Oct. 11, 1967, in New Madrid, he married Carletha Johnson who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three stepsons, Dennis Johnson of Nashville, Tenn., and Charles Johnson and Kenneth Johnson of Lilbourn; one stepdaughter, Brenda Sprague of Diamondhead, Miss.; one brother, Robert Riley of New Madrid; one sister, Emma Maxwell of New Madrid; and 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one stepson, William Johnson; one stepdaughter, Glenda Nolen; one grandson, Larry Allen Nolen Jr.; three brothers, Henry Clay "Mike" Riley, L.L. "Pud" Riley and Edwin Howard "Punk" Riley; and one sister, Dorothy Phillips.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Monday at Richards Funeral Home, where a rosary is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Monsignor Mike Swalina officiating.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
