GRAYRIDGE - Melba Harlan, 61, died Feb. 6, 2003, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.
Born April 21, 1941, in Blytheville, Ark., daughter of the late Paul and Alma Sutton Ritch, she lived in Grayridge most of her life. She had been a nurse practitioner at the John J. Pershing Veterans Administration Medical Center in Poplar Bluff and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary in Poplar Bluff.
On Dec. 14, 1957, in Hernando, Miss., she married James Harlan who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Tommy Harlan of Dexter and Michael Harlan of Grayridge; two brothers, Charles Ritch of Dexter and Kenneth Ritch of St. Louis; one sister, Sue Ann Holder of St. Louis; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Doyle Corlew of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will be scheduled for a later date at the Veterans Administration Cemetery in Bloomfield.
