SIKESTON - Margaret Ellen Alexander, 82, died at 2:28 a.m. Feb. 8, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau

Born June 11, 1920, in Gideon, daughter of the late Robert Franklin and Susan Frances Heath McGill, she was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sikeston. She owned and operated Margaret's Beauty Shop in Sikeston for many years.

Survivors include: two daughters, Janet Underhill of Sikeston and Susie Gardner of High Ridge; one sister, Helen Chittenden of Sikeston; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Five brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Rufus McLean, pastor of Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Greg Gardner, Tim Gardner, Steven Underhill, David Underhill, Brian Underhill and Rob Schmersahl.

Her grandson, Kevin Underhill, will serve as honorary pallbearer.
