Born Aug. 29, 1979, in Cape Girardeau, son of Tommy Gene and Donna Lee Gosche Anderson of Scott City, he was employed by the Charleston School District as a teacher/coach in physical education for grades kindergarten through 12 and as elementary in-school suspension director. He was also the assistant football coach, assistant boys basketball coach and assistant baseball coach at the high school. A 1997 graduate of Scott City High School and a 2002 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor of science degree in physical education, Anderson was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 6420 in Scott City.
Survivors in addition to his parents include: his fiancee, Sarah Glenn of Scott City; two brothers Eric Anderson and Brent Anderson of Cape Girardeau; and his paternal grandmother, Lois Anderson of Oran.
Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City with Knights of Columbus prayers beginning at 7:30 p.m. and parish prayers at 7:45 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. David Coon officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Scott City.
