SIKESTON - Frances Elizabeth Goetz Heckemeyer, 91, died at 3:50 p.m. Dec. 8, 2004, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

Born Nov. 7, 1913, in Tuckerman, Ark., daughter of the late Anthony Joseph and Bessie Baughman Goetz, she lived in St. Louis during her childhood and graduated from Webster High School and attended Washington University in St. Louis. A member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Sikeston Women's Club, she was also a Boy Scout den mother and Girl Scout leader. She sang in the Sikeston Community Choir, was active in the Sikeston Little Theater and was a square dancer and square dance caller.

On May 31, 1935, in St. Louis, she married Paul Quentin Heckemeyer who preceded her in death on June 23, 1991.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Betty Heckemeyer of Sikeston; three daughters and one son-in-law, Vicky Lindsey of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Penny Terrell and Anne and Dan Marshall of Sikeston; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

One brother, Fremont Goetz, also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston. Monsignor Richard Rolwing, senior pastor in residence of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, will officiate.

Pallbearers will be: Ben Lindsey, Quentin Lindsey, Joe Heckemeyer, Matt Heckemeyer, Andrew Heckemeyer, Tess Marshall and Bess Heckemeyer.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Sarah Heckemeyer, Jon Paul Terrell, Celeste Terrell and Gabe Marshall.
