Frankie Mitchell

EAST PRAIRIE - William Franklin "Frankie" Mitchell, 72, died Feb. 11, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Jan. 14, 1931, in Wolf Island, son of the late James and Robbie Jackson Mitchell, he was a lifelong resident of Mississippi County and member of the Wolf Island Baptist Church. He served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War.

Survivors include: one son, James Dale Mitchell, address unavailable; one daughter, Linda Mitchell, address unavailable; two brothers, Billy Ray Mitchell and Joe Mitchell of East Prairie; one sister, Lucille Tolliver of Union City, Tenn.; and several grandchildren.

Six brothers and seven sisters preceded him in death.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday.

Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Blumenberg, Randy Mitchell, Aaron Mitchell, William Taylor, Jackie Mitchell and Kenny Garrett.
