SIKESTON -- Stellene V. Carroll, 83, died at 6:50 p.m. Feb. 9, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born June 18, 1919, in Essex, daughter of the late James Edward and Gertie Holt Babb, she had been a waitress and cook at the Ramada Inn in Sikeston and was of the Church of God belief.
Her husband, George Downen, preceded her in death in 1948. She then married Lewis Carroll and he preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1988.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Charles Edward Downen and James Edgar Downen; and four sisters, Alta Haynes, Lillian Martin, Penny Ross and Mary Cox.
Survivors include: one sister, Erma Manion of St. Louis; one granddaughter and her husband, Kathy and Billy Wilson Jr. of Cape Girardeau; and three great-grandchildren, Samantha Wilson, Angelo Wilson and Dalton Wilson of Cape Girardeau.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Larry Davis, pastor of Trinity Gospel Church in Sikeston, officiating.
Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery in Idalia.
Pallbearers will be: Billy Wilson Jr., John Coker, Sean Coker, Jamie Ross, Darren Killian and Tony Martin.
