SIKESTON - Mrs. Pleas Malcolm entertained at a Halloween party Saturday night at her home in honor of her daughter, Marjane. Sarah Potashnick as Little Red Riding Hood was given first prize for the best costume. SIKESTON - Emotions ran high and personal opinions whirled around the high school as "registered voters" prepared to cast their ballots for the candidates of their choice. Sikeston High School students were given the opportunity to participate in a mock election this week. According to results of the mock election, Sikeston High students were split between George Bush and Bill Clinton.
BLOOMFIELD - A major case squad is being formed in Stoddard County. Representatives of the Missouri Highway Patrol, Stoddard County Sheriff's Department and Coroner's office, SEMO Crime Lab, police chiefs from Advance, Bernie, Bloomfield, Dexter and Puxico, as well as various city officials, met recently to finalize preparations before presenting an organizational plan to the county commission and citizens.
