FAIRBORN, Ohio - Mary Joan Seymour, 53, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died Jan. 3, 2003, at her home.

Born Oct. 18, 1949, in Sikeston, daughter of the late Edward E. and Ruth Moore Seymour, she received a bachelor of arts degree from Texas Tech University and retired as a music teacher for Fairborn Public Schools. The founder and director of the Dayton Area Harp Ensemble, she was a member of the Dayton Musicians Association, American Harp Society and former member of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra.

Survivors include: one sister and brother-in-law, Maida Seymour and Harry W. Britt of Houston, Texas; and her fiance, Dan J. Falke of Fairborn.

Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield.
