Hunter - Pearson

NEW MADRID - Colleen Lyn Hunter and David Blake Pearson exchanged wedding vows in a 2 p.m. ceremony Sept. 28, 2002, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Madrid. Monsignor Michael Swalina performed the ceremony who was assisted by Readers Natalie Hunter of New Madrid and Christie Robins of St. Louis.

The bride is the daughter of Hal E. Hunter III of New Madrid and Carole Hunter of Cape Canaveral, Fla., and the bridegroom is the son of David and Diane Pearson of Sikeston.

Escorted by her father, the bride chose a white floor length wedding gown featuring a v-neckline and cap sleeves. The Alfred Angelo creation was designed with a beaded front and full a-line skirt. Her double-tiered veil was created with satin piping along the edges and the bride carried a bouquet of white roses and baby's breath.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Lora Little, aunt of the bride and Andy Piepenbrok, friend of the couple.

Shannon Graff of Scott City attended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Julie Hunter, sister-in-law of the bride, LeAnn Pearson, sister of the bridegroom and Anita Eby and Melanie Glaus, all of Sikeston. Lauren Eby of Sikeston was flower girl.

Brent Pearson served his brother as best man and groomsmen were Larry Eby and Chance Hunter of Sikeston and Grant Shostak and Jamie Mendez of St. Louis. Ushers were Mark Anderson and Joel Vinson of Sikeston, Daniel Sexton of Dexter, Chris Graff of Scott City and Dale Smith of Kansas City.

Candlelighters and servers were Nick Hunter and Camden Algier of New Madrid. Courtney Bedell of Sikeston served as wedding coordinator.

The wedding reception was held at Rebecca Sharp's in New Madrid.

A 1988 graduate of New Madrid County Central High School, the bride graduated in 1992 with a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and in 1999 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, where she earned her M.D. degree. Mrs. Pearson is employed by First Choice Family Medicine in Sikeston.

Pearson is a 1987 graduate of New Madrid County Central High School. He graduated in 1992 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and received his juris doctorate in 1996 from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. He is employed by the Ottinger and Lawrence Law Firm in Sikeston.
