Speakout 12/28

Tuesday, December 28, 2004

In response to a recent SpeakOut about the lack of coverage for the Portageville basketball team, first of all, beating up on a bunch of below average Bootheel teams is nothing spectacular to report on. Secondly, Portageville fans should be tickled pink because of their unbelievable top-5 ranking in the state polls. Either Class 3 is way down this year, or voters don't know what they're voting for. Come on! Portageville is no Top 10 team in the state. They haven't proven a thing yet.

This is in regard to a Dec. 20 SpeakOut with reference to the Christmas wish that John McMillen and W.T. Woods would "please lose their intellectual talents in the coming year. They are like two juveniles who think the rest of the American people are illiterate or stupid." My person opinion is that you are wasting your time printing those stupid, unintellectual articles that those people send in.

To the person who asked how to get people out of their trailers who aren't paying their bills or their rent. It's almost impossible. The only thing you can do is get an attorney, which costs you money. The law is on the side of the renters. That has been my experience. It takes three or four months to get them out. It doesn't matter that they owe you. You still can't get them out. I went to the sheriff and that didn't do any good.

This SpeakOut is to the bankers and professionals who keep building banks and houses and businesses. Have you ever considered the homeless people and how the shelter is so overrun that they don't have enough room for those who are homeless. I would like for everyone to ponder on this and think about this as you enjoy your Christmas.
