Preston Lafon

NEW MADRID - Preston Lafon, 86, died Nov. 21, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born April 14, 1916, in Ripplemead, Va., son of the late Clarence P. and Elizabeth Garten Lafon, he was a supervisor for a textile plant before retiring.

On May 1, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas, he married Marjorie Zeigler who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Sheila Baird of New Madrid; one son, Preston D. Lafon of New Madrid; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn with Scott Sutton officiating.

Richards Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
