POCAHONTAS, Ark. - Paul Schallert, 80, died Dec. 25, 2004, at the Randolph County Medical Center in Pocahontas.
Born Sept. 2, 1924, in Portageville, Mo., son of the late John Gabriel and Clara Belle Gain Schallert, he was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Pocahontas and St. Eustachius Catholic Church in Portageville.
His wife, Nellie Schallert, survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Alice Schallert and Mark Ellis and Nancy and Perry Pikey of Portageville, Glenda McReynolds of Mountain Home and Paula and Jerry Hogue of Pocahontas; two brothers, Francis Schallert of Adrian, Mo., and Bernard Schallert of Effingham, Ill.; one sister, Mary Powell of Ocala, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Services were conducted at 1 p.m. today at St. Eustachius Catholic Church.
Pallbearers were: Perry Pikey, Mark Ellis, John Pikey, Ian McReynolds, Johnny Thacker and Marvin Gream.
Honorary pallbearers were Eugene Jenkins, Ronnie Gream and Jerry Hogue.
Cox-Waymon Funeral Home of Pocahontas was in charge of arrangements, with DeLisle Funeral Home of Portageville in charge of local arrangements.
