DELTA -- Thelma "Cricket" McDaniel, 80, died at 12:35 p.m. March 23, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 3, 1928, at Randles, to the late Charles Raymond and Rosa Ann Cloninger Simmons, she was a homemaker and a member of Perkins Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post No. 3838 in Cape Girardeau.
On Nov. 14, 1945, she married Harold Lloyd McDaniel who preceded her in death on June 17, 2000.
Also preceding her in death were one son, Lloyd "Curt" McDaniel; and three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Dickie Hefner of Delta and Vickey and Phil Vandeven of Glennon; one daughter-in-law, Mary "Aggie" Chapman of Delta; two sisters, Ora Lawrence of Boise, Idaho and Velma Lawrence of Gooding, Ind.; and eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for 5 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Perkins Baptist Church. The Rev. Rick Crump will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery at Perkins.
Pallbearers will be: Justin Vandeven, Daniel Vandeven, Jim Perry, Richard Hefner, Jason McDaniel and Aaron Altenthal.
