EAST PRAIRIE -- Francis "Cotton" Ferrenburg, 96, died at 10:45 p.m. March 24, 2008, at his home.
Born Nov. 3, 1911, in Ferrenburg, to the late Eugene and Hattie Ross Ferrenburg, he lived in Detroit for 31 years before retiring to Florida for several years. He moved back to East Prairie in 1994.
On March 14, 1943, he married Dela Mae Clayton, who died Jan. 5, 2008.
Also preceding him in death were: one sister, Esther Happe; and two brothers, Lester Ferrenberg and Cecil Ferrenberg.
Survivors include: two sisters, Audrey Feezor of Charleston and Lois Russell of East Prairie; one sister-in-law, Alma Ferrenberg of Ferrenberg; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Larry Lane will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Dickie Russell, Buddy Russell, Jack Feezor, Dick Happe, Jimmy Wayne Ferrenburg and Alvin Ferrenburg.
