SIKESTON -- Cynthia Jane Davis and Jackie Leon Groves exchanged wedding vows in a 7 p.m. ceremony Sept. 14, 2002, at the Ramada Inn in Sikeston. Judge W.H. Winchester performed the ceremony.
Music for the occasion was provided by Starlite Sound System with David Franklin and Mike Frederick.
The bride is the daughter of John and Greta Davis of Sikeston and the bridegroom's parents are J.L. and Rayola Groves of Benton.
Given in marriage by her son, Brandon Brown, the bride wore a white satin gown featuring an empire bodice with halter straps. The tea-length gown featured a flowing train and the hemline was trimmed with lace and pearls.
Candace Brown of Sikeston was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Judy Magee, Cathy Dye, Liz Morrison and Kristina, all of Sikeston.
John Groves of Cairo, Ill., attended the bridegroom as best man. Groomsmen were Eugene Magee, Charlie Dye, Mike Hill and Steve Hardin, all of Sikeston. Jason Davis of Sikeston was candlelighter and ushers were Jackie Lee Groves of Sikeston and Todd Palmer and Greg Davis of Charleston.
Kristi Whiteside of Sikeston was guest book attendant.
Serving guests at the reception, which was also held at the Ramada Inn, were Dorothy Thompson and Tammie Lambert of Sikeston and Lisa Shaw of Matthews.
Following a wedding trip to New Orleans, La., the couple is residing in Sikeston.
