SIKESTON - A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Roegner. He has been named Harold Frederick.

SIKESTON - This fall, a 120-unit Holiday Inn of America will open in Sikeston on a 10-acre tract of land just south of Sikeston.


MOREHOUSE - Carl Launius was installed as president of the Morehouse Kiwanis Club by Lieutenant Gov. G.E. Simmons. Melvin Clark is vice president and Charles Rauch, secretary.

SIKESTON - Edward D. Speakman, owner of Speakman's Photography Studio, announced Tuesday that he is withdrawing his name as a City Council candidate in the upcoming primary election. Speakman, the second person who filed for one of the two vacant council positions, cited personal reasons for pulling out of the race.


BERNIE - Risco, beaten only twice this season, notched another victory by defeating Bernie 62-55 Tuesday. Bernie coach Jim Davis described Risco as "a pretty good ball club that is really scrappy." Risco's Earnhardt was the top scorer with 24 points.

SIKESTON - Peter Glenn and Susan Leigh Kennard are the parents of their first child, a daughter, born Dec. 22, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. The baby has been named Lauren Rose Kennard.


SIKESTON - Norwood Front Street Fashions recently named the winners of a gift certificate drawing. Winners are Helen Heldenbrand and Edna Lee Pinnell of Sikeston and Dulcia Law of Bernie.
