DEXTER - Dale Ray Griffy, 69, died Dec. 18, 2002, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dexter.
Born April 26, 1933, at Puxico, son of the late Ralph and Dixie Siler Griffy, he was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, where he as a former deacon and was currently serving as a trustee. He worked in the engineering department of Southwestern Bell for 33 years, served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was a member of the Stoddard County Gospel Mission.
On Aug. 31, 1956, at Dexter, he married Pauline Eskew who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Greg Davis of Imperial and Karen and Rocky Davis of Jackson; one brother, Carroll Griffy of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Linda Hallmark of Wappapello and Margie Mathis and Anna Jean Griffy of Dexter; and three grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Norman Griffy and David Griffy; and two sisters, Erthel Griffy and Derthel Griffy.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Robert Lewis will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
