MARSTON -- A Marston man is dead and charges are expected to be filed today against his wife.
New Madrid County Sheriff Terry Stevens reported his office received a call at 5:22 p.m. Wednesday. "The caller stated her husband had been shot," said Stevens.
When law enforcement authorities arrived at the home, located on the south side of Marston, the victim was found in the hallway with a gunshot wound to the chest. Stevens said the man was dead by the time authorities arrived.
An autopsy is being conducted today at Farmington on the victim, whose name was not being released by authorities since charges had not been formally filed against the wife.
The wife was taken into custody at the scene, the sheriff said. A weapon was also recovered at the scene.
