SIKESTON - Thanks to donations by some of the local merchants and the work of the City Park Board, the VFW Baseball Park shines brighter with the glitter of much needed repairs.

SIKESTON - Sikeston City Clerk Steve Matthews reported today that Phillip Barkett Sr. has filed for one of two City Council seats that will be vacated in April.

MOREHOUSE - Scott and Alice Chartrau of Morehouse are the parents of their first children, twin daughters, born Nov. 22 at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis. The girls were named Alayna Kristin and Amanda Tristin.

SIKESTON - Casey Robinson was crowned Tiny Miss Winter Princess. First alternate is Rochuhen DeLisle and Crystalynn Michelle Creasy is second alternate. DeLisle was voted the Most Photogenic.

SIKESTON - Standing behind his commitment to business and the community, Sikeston attorney Robert A. Dempster has given Missouri Delta Medical Center $100,000 for its new physical therapy building. In honor of the Dempster's efforts the building will be named the Robert A. Dempster ReStart Physical Medicine Complex.

BELL CITY - Given the situation, it was bound to be a big win for either team. What made Bell City's 68-66 triumph over Delta on Friday even more memorable was the adversity the winners had to overcome - a 10-point deficit, poor free throw shooting and the loss of its starting center.
