Just who is this idiot who said people vote from their wallets, and that Republicans are the cause of this mess were in. What mess? Is your belly growling? You say we don't need a war for oil. We need electric cars. What you need is a brain transplant, you whale-kissing, tree-hugging nut case. This thing with Iraq has nothing to do with oil, period. And I would like to see what the hell you're driving around town. I'll just bet it don't need gas. Also, If you don't like it here, move your ass to Iraq. An idiot like you will fit right in. Saddam loves an idiot.

Does anybody know the whereabouts of Elmer "Stump" Penrose? I heard that he passed away.

According to information published Oct. 9, 2001, in the obituary of Elmer Penrose Jr., 49, of Poplar Bluff, Elmer Penrose and his wife, Betty Penrose, are both deceased.

I live in East Prairie and I have been going to the parades for four years now. The parades are wonderful, but what the city did, the tree at the four-way stop only has three lights on it. They need to let a woman decorate it like women did the gazebo. That is horrible. They need to take it down and let somebody do it that knows how to do it. Men are no good at decorating Christmas trees, especially in public. The women did the gazebo and it's gorgeous. Men did the tree - take it down.

I would like to respond to the person who wrote about the Morehouse water. First of all, if I almost died last night from drinking water in Morehouse, SpeakOut would be the last thing on my mind. The young men who work for our water treatment plant are hard working men and they go out of their way to help the elderly or anyone else here in this town. And they work hard to make sure the water supply is OK. I have lived here for many years and the water has never made me sick. If you think the water made you that sick, you should go to the store and buy your water or move to another town.

What is the new building going up by First Security State Bank?
