DESOTO, Texas -- Mayola Gibson, 76, formerly of Dexter, Mo., died Dec. 29, 2004, at the Charlson Methodist Hospital in Dallas.
Born Feb. 25, 1928, in Bernie, Mo., daughter of the late Richard and Effie Adeline Jerls McCamish, she had lived in Dexter before moving to St. Louis, Mo., in 1969, and later to DeSoto. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Mesquite.
On Oct. 22, 1944, in St. Louis, she married Charles Gibson who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Michael Gibson of Knoxville, Tenn., and Mark Gibson of St. Louis; one daughter, Pamela Gibson of Mesquite; three sisters, Velva Robisky of Dallas, Evelyn Robinson of Jackson, Mo., and Martha Duffie-Reynolds of Bernie; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One sister, Melba Thurston; and one brother, James Richard McCamish, also preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
