SIKESTON -- Sikeston's eighth grade basketball team posted two wins over Kennett on Tuesday night, winning the B-game 55-29 and the A-game 33-28.
In the A-game, the Bullpups trailed by two points heading into the fourth quarter. Led by Tarryl Booker, Joe Lincoln and Blake Taylor, Sikeston outscored the Indians 13-6 in the final frame to pull out the win.
Lincoln and Booker both finished with 10 points, followed by Taylor with nine. Sikeston's A-team improved to 7-1 with the win and will face Jackson tonight in the Cape Central Tournament at 7:15 p.m.
Sikeston rolled to victory in the B-game. Six-foot-3 center Joe Moore was unstoppable in the paint, finishing with 13 points. Preston Rowe contributed 10 points and Cameron Wiggins added eight.
"I thought we played really well the entire game (in the B-game)," said Sikeston coach Kevin Self. "In the A-game, we played really well in the fourth quarter. We started running our offense as a team much better."
Sikeston's B-team improves to 3-0 with the win.
