LAKEVIEW, Ark. -- Jane Bowman Woehlecke, 67, died Jan. 14, 2003, at the Baxter Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 30, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., daughter of the late R. Byron and Ruby Evans Bowman, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she had been a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the United Methodist Women. A graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, she was an art instructor in Hiawatha, Kan., Powhatan Indian Reservation and in Sikeston, Mo., and at the Montessori School in Mountain Home. In 1987, she moved from Hiawatha to Lakeview. A former realtor for Anchor Realty, she was also a Girl Scout troop leader in Hiawatha. Woehlecke was an avid reader of history and enjoyed recreating portraits of old houses, playing bridge and traveling.
Her husband, Edward Woehlecke, survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, L. Evans and Ginger Woehlecke of Hiawatha and Byron W. Woehlecke of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Sarah Jane Woehlecke of Mountain Home; one sister, Nancy Moore of Des Peres, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jaycea Woehlecke, Drake Woehlecke and Camille Woehlecke; and several nieces and nephews.
One daughter also preceded her in death.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home in Mountain Home with the Rev. Jim Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha.
