Patrick Rice

DEXTER - Patrick David Rice, 36, died Jan. 14, 2003, at his home.

Born March 9, 1966, in Grapevine, Texas, son of George Duran of Dexter and the late Carol Jean Burns Rice, he was employed by Tyson Foods in Dexter and was a member of Smith Avenue Church of God in Sikeston.

Survivors in addition to his father include: his adoptive father and stepmother, David and Becky Rice of Jackson; two brothers, Justin Rice of Chicago, Ill., and Shaun Duran of Dexter; one sister, Chrysta Lynn Null of Leora; his maternal grandmother, Esther Jean Burns of Dexter; and his maternal grandfather and stepgrandmother, Lee Roy and Elizabeth Burns of Dexter.

One brother, Jonathan Mark Rice, preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Ira Sandefer, pastor of Smith Avenue Church of God, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
