BENTON - Mildred Colletta Felter, 81, died at 2:25 a.m. Dec. 30, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born Sept. 12, 1921, at Randles, daughter of the late Leo and Clara Essner Schlitt, she was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.
On Sept. 30, 1941, at Oran, she married Sylvester A. Felter who preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1996.
Survivors include: four sons, Robert Felter of Dallas, Texas, and Sylvester Felter Jr., David Felter and Joseph Felter of Benton; 10 daughters, Shirley Cook of Las Vegas, Nev., Linda Ressel, Doris Stubenrauch and Yvonne Schwartz of Kelso, Laverne Felter of Rolla, Delores Ancell of Huntsville, Ala., Diane Galwith of Fulton, Susie Bohannon of Benton, Mary Reed of Aiken, S.C., and Carla Fellows of Jackson; and 31 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, two daughters, two brothers and one granddaughter.
Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton, where parish prayers at 7 p.m. will be followed by a Knights of Columbus service at 7:15 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Denis Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Kiefer and the Rev. Normand Varone as concelebrants.
Burial will follow in the St. Denis Cemetery.
