MOREHOUSE - Donald "Mickey" Hoots, 57, died Dec. 29, 2002, at his home.
Born Sept. 19, 1945, in Bell City, son of the late William and Effie Burkhart Hoots, he had lived in the Bell City and Morehouse areas most of his life. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was an over-the-road truck driver and member of the First General Baptist Church in Morehouse, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eagles.
Survivors include: one son, Charles Ray Hoots of Scott City; one daughter, Lori Michelle Hoots of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Buddy Hoots of Morley; three sisters, Louise Loveless of Morley, Shirley Callow of Advance and Betty Hovis of Dexter; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. Thursday until service time at 1 p.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Morehouse. The Rev. Randy Thomas of Sikeston will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield.
Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
