Born in Wayne County, son of the late Edward Wyle and Sara Velma Frost Brewer, he attended the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Laird Hill. Before moving to Texas, he was a construction foreman for the S.J. Coin Construction Company during the construction of the air base in Blytheville, Ark. He was employed by Lumlog and had also been a diesel mechanic for Eagle Trucking.
His wife, Ruby Carol McQueen Brewer, survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sisters, Myrtle Carrington and Irene Boshears of Morehouse, Mo.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmie Brewer, Lee Brewer, Robert Brewer and Dexter Brewer; and one sister, Mattie Brewer.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Wayne Jordan will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery.
