Hap Smith Sr.

Born July 25, 1925, at Dundee, Mich., son of the late Leroy and Effie M. Burrington Smith, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

On March 15, 1952, in Britton, Mich., he married Sallyann Linderman who preceded him in death on June 25, 1995.

Survivors include: four sons, Meredith "Hap" Smith Jr. of Idlewild, Glen W. Smith of Perris, Calif., Doug L. Smith of Spotslyvania, Va., and Brian M. Smith of LaPuente, Calif.; two daughters, Madeline Connelly of Pomona, Calif., and Debra Tyre of Jacksonville, N.C.; one brother, Russell L. Smith of Romuls, Mich.; one sister, Shirley Atkins of Florida; and 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were one son, Kenneth E. Smith; four brothers, Willard A. Smith, Warren G. Smith, Raymond P. Smith and Kenny E. Smith; and two sisters, Elnora Kruger and Blanche Meyer.

The body was cremated and no visitation or services are scheduled.
