ORAN -- Nicole Ann Schabbing and John Eberhart Cozean exchanged wedding vows in an 11 a.m. ceremony Oct. 5, 2002, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran. The Rev. John Harth performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Schabbing of Jackson and the bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Charles H. Cozean Jr. of Cape Girardeau.
Music for the occasion was provided by the Steve Schaffner Trio.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white cheri satin strapless gown detailed with delicate embroidery and accentuated with pearl and crystal beading trim at the neckline and back lapels. The silk pleated midriff was also adorned with miniature flowers at the back waist and the skirt flowed into a semi-cathedral train.
Tracey Schabbing of Perryville attended her sister-in-law as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sara Schabbing of Denver, Colo., sister-in-law of the bride, and Laura DeBrock of Vincennes, Ind., sister of the bridegroom. Junior bridesmaid was Erica DeBrock of Vincennes, niece of the bridegroom, and miniature bride was Linden Schabbing of Perryville, niece of the bride. Flower girls were Victoria DeBrock of Vincennes, niece of the bridegroom, and Sydney Schabbing of Perryville, niece of the bride.
Charles Cozean III of Great Falls, Va., served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Bart DeBrock, M.D., of Vincennes, brother-in-law of the bridegroom and Mark Schabbing of Perryville, brother of the bride. Ring bearer was William DeBrock of Vincennes. Robert Schabbing M.D. of Denver and Kevin Schabbing of Jackson, brothers of the bride, served as ushers.
Dr. Rebecca Schriener of Chesterfield, friend of the bride, served as guest book attendant.
The wedding reception was held at the church following the ceremony.
