PUXICO - Martin John Reiter, 90, died Dec. 12, 2002, at Three Rivers Heathcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Born May 6, 1912, in Puxico, son of the late John Adam and Emma Ida Meyer Reiter, he was a lifelong resident of the Puxico area and member of the Fairview United Methodist Church. A retired farmer and electrician, he had served as assessor and collector for the New Libson Township.
On June 16, 1928, he married Avis Mildred Potter who preceded him in death on Dec. 29, 1996.
One brother and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: two sons, John Reiter of Puxico and Ernest Reiter of Franklin, Ky.; two daughters, Gertrude Killian of Cape Girardeau and Claudette Jines of Dexter; and five grandchildren, one stepgrandchild, 10 great-grandchildren, one stepgreat-grandchild and two great-great-grandchildren.
No visitation was held.
Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery at Puxico.
