STEELE -- Dexter remained undefeated on the young season, toppling Senath-Hornersville 83-49 on Monday night.
The Bearcats improve to 3-0 with the win, heading into Thursday's game against Doniphan.
"It was good to get back on the court again," said Dexter coach Gavin Miller. "We had three days off last week with the snow and missed a game. We were just excited to get out and play. There are a lot of things we still have to improve on, but we're playing well as a group and I'm getting a lot of girls in the game. That's important when you've got 14 girls on your team."
Dexter put up 19 points in the first quarter and only got stronger with each quarter, scoring 19 in the second, 23 in the third and 22 in the fourth.
Eleven of Dexter's 14 players scored, and everybody got playing time in the first half. The Lady Bearcats led 38-17 at the break.
"We're running the court very well right now," said Miller. "I've got a lot of taller girls that typically haven't run the court well, and I'm pretty deep. I've got girls that could start on other teams in the area, and they do a good job when they get in the game."
Rachel Blunt led Dexter with 16 points.
Center Katie Dunlap added 12. Hannah Burleson and Stephanie Rose each contributed 10. Jennifer Montgomery paced Senath with 12 points.
"Everything seems to be going pretty good right now," said Miller. "But we are a long way from where we need to be. Doniphan will not be an easy team to beat. We've got our work cut out for us Thursday night."
