MOREHOUSE - The Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation Delta Area Headstart Morehouse Center's Christmas King and Queen were crowned at the parent meeting and Christmas program Thursday evening. Christmas King is Jermaine Warfield and Christmas Queen is Lora Beth Johnson.

SIKESTON - Midweek rains didn't freeze and cause hazardous road conditions, but when circumstances present themselves, the Department of Public Works says it is ready for snow-removal season.

SIKESTON - A 19-year-old Sikeston man was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with drug trafficking after a traffic stop and a block-long foot chase, DPS officials said Friday. The suspect remains in custody in the Sikeston City Jail. Bond was set at $54,500.
