SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Chester Oldham became the parents of a baby girl Jan. 21. The baby has been named Bevalee Jane. Oldham is a city mail carrier.

SIKESTON - Clem Beal, president of the Sikeston Lions Club, reported today that 25 people have enrolled for an adult leadership training course. The course is to give a person more self-confidence, an effective technique of communication, more effective human and public relations and also a memory of names.

SIKESTON - With temperatures dipping to the subzero range within the last week, the electricity load for Sikeston has increased by 20 percent, according to E.R. "Dick" Inman, director of municipal utilities. However, he stated that the Sikeston power plant has not increased its power capacity at this time due to this increase. The weather forecast through Thursday calls for continued cold temperatures with lows in the teens and 20s and highs in the 30s.

BLODGETT - A chili supper will be served from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Blodgett City Hall. The cost for the meal, sponsored by the Blodgett Women's Club, is $3 for adults, $2 for children ages 6-12 and children under 6 eat free. Carryouts will be available.


SIKESTON - Sikeston Public Schools Nursing and Surgical Technologist Programs starting in August 1995 are now accepting applications. Testing is scheduled for Feb. 2 for the nursing program and test scheduling is now being conducted for the surgical technologist program.


SIKESTON - Two days of competition will choose the "Sweethearts" of Southeast Missouri Feb. 10 and 12.
