SIKESTON -- Emory Oliver, 80, died March 3, 2005, at his home in Sikeston.
Born Oct. 30, 1924, in Princeton, Ky., son of the late Cullen Hezekiah and Dora Elizabeth Kappler Oliver, he had worked for Rice Dairy in Sikeston for over 10 years and in construction for 28 years before retiring.
On June 25, 1960, in Sikeston, he married Priscilla Ann Houchins who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Emory Adam Oliver of Sikeston; one daughter, Mary Ann Kempfer of Sikeston; one brother, Eugene C. Oliver of Sikeston; one sister, Ida Wallace of Sikeston; and two grandchildren and numerous stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren.
Four brothers, Henry L. Oliver, Adam L. Oliver, O.M. "Red" Oliver and Pearson Oliver; and three sisters, Birdie Chaney, Mary L. Oliver and Francis Clark, also preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. James F. Long Jr. will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
