MOREHOUSE -- Florence Evelee Adams, 82, died March 1, 2005, at her home.
Born Aug. 5, 1922, in Como, daughter of the late John and Mary Porterfield Stephens, she was a member of the Oneness Pentecostal Church in Morehouse. She had worked for Houchin's Donut Shop in Sikeston for 20 years, worked at Rowe Furniture in Morehouse for seven years, and was a grandmother for Sikeston Public Schools for five years before retiring.
On Jan. 20, 1951, in Arkansas, she married Howard L. Adams who preceded her in death Dec. 12, 2002.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Earnest G. Stephens, Orbis Stephens, Joshua Stephens, Dave Stephens and Denver Stephens; and two sisters, Marcella Lawson and Vivian Ship.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Linda Adams of Oahu, Hawaii; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sue Ann and Eldon Moore of Benton, Ark., Gloria Jean and Don Tucker of Dexter, Lemma and Gregory Knuckles of Tyler, Texas, and Nila and Rusty Vinson of Carclock, Ill.; and 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Morehouse Oneness Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Jimmy Vent, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
