BELLEVILLE, Ill. - Jefferson Davis "Jeff" Fox, 76, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died Jan. 13, 2005.
Born April 13, 1928, in Charleston, son of the late Hascal and Hontas McCuiston Fox, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and member of Sterling Baptist Church in Fairview Heights. A former member and deacon of the Lakeview Baptist Church in Fairview Heights, he retired from the Armour Packing Company after 33 years of service. He was also a member of the Mid States Bass Club.
On June 5, 1948, he married Edna Shaw who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Don Call and Jill and Mark Gray of Swansea, Beverly and Jim Hancock of Addieville and Sally and John Davis of Belleville; two brothers, Russell Fox of Wheaton and Ralph Fox of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Frances Farris of Sikeston, Mo., and Martha Evans of Jefferson City, Mo.; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Saturday at the Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville. The Revs. Randy Loeschen and Bill Fox officiated.
Burial followed in Lake View Memorial Gardens at Fairview Heights.
