KEY WEST, Fla. - Robert Kyle Watson of Key West died in his sleep after a long illness.

Born in 1959, he lived in Sikeston, Kennett and Blue Springs, Mo., and Key West and was a graduate of Sikeston High School. Kyle worked as a surveyor in Miami and was proud to have helped in the building of Miami's Metro Rail.

Kyle was loved by his family and friends for his generous spirit and his sensitive and loving nature.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nevelle Massey and Leonard and Almeda Watson, and his sister, Debra Kay Watson.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Lee Watson of Key West; his father, Bob Watson of Lee's Summit, Mo.; his brother, Kent Watson of Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany; and his aunt, Ann Lorraine of Key West. Kyle will also be missed by his many aunts, uncles and cousins in Missouri.

A memorial service to celebrate Kyle's life will be held in Key West later this month.
