SIKESTON - Arlen Leon Maevers, 74, died Oct. 21, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born July 20, 1933, in Tilsit, son of the late August and Amanda Nagle Maevers, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a senior construction inspector for Missouri Department of Transportation and a licensed land surveyor.
On May 19, 1957, he married Lola Faith, who preceded him in death May 15, 1971.
On Sept. 16, 1972, he married Mary Ann Schreckenberg, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Sheri Leigh Vaughan of Sikeston and Ellen Kay New of Diehlstadt; one brother, Lester Maevers of Jackson; one sister, Jerlene Hutteger of Jackson; and five grandchildren, Angela Vaughan of Cape Girardeau, Jami Vaughan of Chaffee, Leandra Vaughan of Sikeston, Kenneth Ray New II of Sacramento, Calif. and Kristina New (Nathan) Penland of Fort Worth, Texas.
One daughter, Judith Ann Maevers; one brother, Norman Maevers; and one sister, Mildred Lohmann preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church. The Rev. A.J. Wollenburg will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson with full military honors.
