CAPE GIRARDEAU - Arvella P. Steimle, 89, died March 2, 2002, at the Lutheran Home.
Born Nov. 2, 1912, in Kelso, daughter of the late John and Bertha Bles Dumey, she was a cook for St. Mary's Elementary School for more than 20 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Ann's Sodality and the Pinochle Club for 40 years.
On April 28, 1936, in Cape Girardeau, she married Edward Steimle who preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1982.
Survivors include: four daughters and three sons-in-law, Mary and Bill Loos and Dorothy and Jerome Ressel of Cape Girardeau, Ann and Jerry Hinton of Jackson and Janice Steimle of Montgomery, Ala.; four sisters, Juanita Kern of Cape Girardeau, Erma Grojean of New Hamburg and Mary Paylor and Kathryn Todt of Sikeston; 13 grandchildren, Gary Loos, Mark Loos, Jon Hinton, David Hinton, Denise Pittman and Brenda Lewis of Cape Girardeau, Steve Hinton and Laure Upchurch of Jackson, Tim Loos of Honolulu, Hawaii, Greg Hinton of Lake Wappapello, Susan Hinton of New York, N.Y., Teresa Ressel of Park Hills and Matthew Steimle of Montgomery; and 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral with Monsignor Richard Rolwing officiating.
Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
