DEXTER - R. Sessel Hutchcraft, 74, died March 7, 2002, at the John J. Pershing Veterans Administration Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born Dec. 13, 1927, in St. Louis, son of the late Arthur Oren and Flossie Bean Hutchcraft, he was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter and retired farmer. He served with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne in World War II.
On March 12, 1948, at Piggott, Ark., he married Doris Garrett who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Tech Sgt. Mark Hutchcraft, stationed at Langley Air Base in Norfolk, Va., and David Hutchcraft and Brant Hutchcraft of Dexter; one daughter, Linda Hutchcraft of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Bobby Hutchcraft of Shawnee, Okla., and Wayne Hutchcraft of Dexter; two sisters, Ruth Redman of Godfrey, Ill., and Mary Butler of Gillen, Texas; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
One brother, Ralph Oren Hutchcraft, preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Kenneth Biggs will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Sadler Chapel Cemetery.
