Speakout 1/23

A few weeks ago you printed the address to send school supplies to Iraq. I have lost my copy and would appreciate it if you could run it again.

School supplies can be sent to: SPC Justin Horn, C Co. 1140th EN BN, APO AE 09331

I am calling about the Matt Blunt labor dispute in the capitol. I am a firm believer of the union not being in our federal and local governments. I don't mind them being in the private sector, but they don't need to be there. This is not a right-to-work state and out of 65,000 only 20,000 who voted for it, that's not a whole total package. Matt Blunt, I voted for you and I'm glad to see you up there making some changes. It's time to clean house. I appreciate you doing your work. Let's get it down here to the local level and clean this up. Unions, I'm for you but not in our government.

I am outraged to hear about the tens of millions of dollars being spent for the inauguration. Everyone is being told to tighten their belts but then they go spend all that on the second inauguration. What is the matter with the American people? Will they ever learn? That would do so much for so many people. Isn't there enough being spent on that needless war? Wake up, people.

According to the Associated Press, "More than 150 corporations, trade associations and individuals have given $100,000 or more to earn recognition as inaugural sponsors and the accompanying event tickets." The celebrations are funded by private donations. The only expense incurred by taxpayers is for security purposes. "For the first time, all the federal agencies that deal with security, law enforcement and crisis response will be housed in a single Joint Field Office for a presidential inauguration."

Hooray for the Social Security fraud catcher in Mississippi County. If he caught everybody in Mississippi County who is doing fraud on Social Security disability it would fill one penitentiary. It's too bad he can't catch them all, and I know he can't. He caught at least one; maybe he can catch more. We have one who claims to be a preacher and draws Social Security disability. There are several others who attend church regularly and are deadbeats too. So keep it up, whoever you are. Maybe you can get them all in jail.

This is the so-called "loser" who knows nothing about basketball reminding die-hart Portageville fan to take a chill and try to realize that all I'm saying is that Portageville is overrated in the state rankings. A lopsided loss to Dexter and then a surprising loss to South Pemiscot the next night may indicate I do know a little about basketball. Portageville does have a nice team but may not as awesome as this narrow-minded fan seems to think they have. It sure feels good to know that I do know what a basketball looks like. Sorry if I offended a Portageville fan so much. You cannot win them all and will not win them all.

Someone called in Speakout and asked if Melanie Blunt's fur was real or not. It was real, all right. Real ugly.
