Anything -N- Everything offers variety of items at discount
SIKESTON - Joyce Lambert loves a bargain. She loves a bargain so much she gets them by the truck load.
Those who love a bargain, too, are finding Lambert's new business, Anything -N- Everything, the place to shop.
Opened in February at 2412 E. Malone Ave., the store is exactly what its name implies. "I try to have a little of anything and everything," Lambert said.
At least once a month, Lambert welcomes a truck filled with items from various liquidators. The items, almost all still in the original box, are items larger merchandisers considered over-stocks or perhaps were returned by customers. She describes the truck's arrival as a lot like Christmas. "I like looking in all the boxes to see what is there. You never know what you are going to get," she said. "That is what I always tell my customers - if you don't see it this time, come back because it may just be on the next truck."
And, she emphasized, each truck brings a wide variety. Walking among the aisles of Anything -N- Everything, she points to automotive supplies then to dishware then to furniture to make her point about the range of merchandise.
Also shoppers find a variety of toys, tools, stereo equipment, video games, computers, televisions, appliances and household items. To make the most of her space, Lambert filled a hot tub she has for sale with comforters, another bargain, she said.
One room is set aside for swimming pool supplies, including Regal chemicals, liners, pumps and filters along with all that is needed for an above-ground or an in-ground pool. According to the owner, when summer is over these will be packed away and the room will be filled with toys in anticipation of holiday shoppers.
"You know if we list it all, that could take a long time," said the owner about the merchandise, "Plus it is always changing with each truckload."
Describing herself as a fan of discount stores, Lambert said owning Anything -N- Everything has given her the opportunity to be her own boss. Also, she continued, it is an opportunity to make people happy.
"When you get a good bargain, you leave with a smile on your face and if you are leaving pleased with what you bought, then you probably will be back," she said.
And Lambert is smiling over her Miner location, describing the area's residents as very supportive of the business. Also as more customers are becoming aware of the store, located across from the Miner Piggly Wiggly, she is drawing business from an every increasing area, Lambert said.
Anything -N- Everything it open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
